Recent News & Events

Development

  • Intermediate software release P1.3 was delivered by GRAFFICA.
  • P1.4 is expected on 30 Nov 09 and will be tested in the LAB during the following weeks.

Interfaces

  • The first draft of an ICD document LARA-PENS has been staffed and adapted and will be send to the Users Group members for consolidation.
  • A second meeting with DCMAC (LARA), CFMU and DFS (Stanly) took place on 09 Nov 09. The purpose was to standardize the interfacing and data exchange between the local tools and the CFMU. A descriptive feasibility document will be produced.

Stakeholders support

  • The Experimental Deployment for BE DEF, BELGOCONTROL and MUAC is ongoing. The received comments of the operational test and validation of the LARA prototype 1.0 have been processed.
  • The Experimental Deployment of version prototype 1.3 in BE, NL and MUAC was prepared and is foreseen end of November.
  • Technical support from the LARA team was given to NATS and the RAF which agreed to extent the demo session and to install the demonstrator in their Ops room.
  • The FABEC ASM/ATFCM trial organised in the CFMU from 22 Nov 09 till 04 Dec 09 has started. Four LARA positions equipped with prototype 1.3 were delivered for the BE and NL AMCs and MUAC.

Stakeholders interest

  • After the successful demonstrations in Portugal, Bulgaria and Norway in October, the German Air Force and the Finish stakeholders were also extensively briefed.
  • A meeting with the French Air Force is planned on the 26 Nov 09 to look at the interface between their system DIANE and LARA.

LARA exhibited at ICAO Montreal.

EUROCONTROL presented its three Civil-Military Support Systems – LARA, CIMACT and PRISMIL – during the Civil-Military ATM Forum held this October at ICAO Headquarters in Montreal, Canada. During presentations and discussions of the Forum, participants stressed repeatedly the need for effective and flexible airspace management and appropriate support tools. Consequently, the LARA exhibition was very well received and attracted military and civil participants from numerous countries around the world.
