Recent News & Events

Software Development

  • After the delivery of software release P2.5 and some further fine tuning, a version one (V1) was ready for the Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT). After a successful FAT, V1 was officially delivered.
  • In the mean time, the development of additional functions to meet the V2 has started. If necessary, certain adaptations resulting from the operational evaluation of the stakeholders will be also addressed to be included in V2.
  • A call for tender has been launched for further software improvements to be executed before the end of the year.

Interfaces

  • Agreement has been concluded with MUAC on initial LARA – FDPS interface and associated data exchange, based on ADEXP messages syntax.
  • On the 28th September, a coordination meeting with CFMU on the enhancement of the transfer of static airspace data was organised. Current and future interfaces to CIAM and CACD were discussed.
  • LARA Server and Clients (including WEB clients) exchanges fully support secure (SSL) communication.
  • The requested interface with NATO ACCS will be tested very soon.
  • The definition of the interface between LARA and PRISMIL is now demonstrable and will further progress.
  • Extension of the interface has been proposed for stakeholders willing to retrieve directly Airspace and CDRs planning & status directly from the LARA database servers.

Stakeholders support

  • On 13 September, the V1 was delivered to Belgium (Civ & Mil), the Netherlands (RNLAF and AFMU) and Maastricht UAC. Those partners started organising the pre-implementation and the operational evaluation of LARA.
  • The United Kingdom received the V1 on 21 September. The operational evaluation is planned between 01 and 30 November.
  • The MILOs will start to use V1 in a stand alone mode. Connections are foreseen with the BE and NL cluster as soon as the initial set up in those States is satisfactory. At this point the MILO will only observe.
  • The User Group met on the 24th September. The main subject was the pre-implementation activities. The UK, BE and NL agreed to exchange their experiences. It has also been decided that all stakeholders will be supported for the customisation and the training of key LARA users.
  • The V1 will be delivered in Bulgaria and Spain in the next months.
  • Turkey has asked for a briefing and demonstration of LARA. This will be organised before the end of the year.
