Deployment
Since August 2015, the number of countries to implement LARA has increased further; Hungary has declared their LARA system operational, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Slovenia, Slovakia and Bosnia and Herzegovina indicated interest. A full operational and technical training has been held in Hungary, Portugal and Lithuania. On top of LARA info sessions, technical and operational training, the LARA Team provided an introduction to LARA to the Royal Navy at the Flag Officers Sea Training (FOST) in Plymouth, supporting the preparation of rolling out LARA further to the UK Military.
LARA Version 3
The very strong focus of the recent months has remained supporting CS4 and preparing the release of LARA V3.
As part of the ongoing competency training an “Introduction to V3” was held at EUROCONTROL Brussels, where the new software version is explained and demonstrated to key participants (see picture).
Video of the V3 training is being made available on the lara-eu-org website.
V3 has been released. All functionality is implemented and reviewed and final tweaks have been made to ensure robustness of the software in operation. V3 supports full NM B2B interoperability, the management of Non-AMC-manageable areas, temporary release of airspace, FBZ and FUA Restrictions, and a large number of additional major and minor improvements.
The documentation for V3 is available via the lara-eu.org website. These include the user manuals for the booking tool and the housekeeper, as well as an updated technical manual.
Other Activities
The LARA User Group was held April 26th at EUROCONTROL HQ in Brussels.
LARA was on display at the World ATM Conference in Madrid. Interest for LARA continues to extend outside of Europe; recent requests include Australia, Morocco, Algiers, Thailand and UAE. EUROCONTROL is currently investigating options of making the software available outside of Europe.
We are happy to inform you that the LARA team has the pleasure to welcome Mr Alvaro Ramos del Rio, an IT expert, as new LARA team member.
